I wonder if I put a few words here?

Blog Post #4!

Hello all!

During week eight, I experimented with using Chat GPT and Dall-E to experiment with using AI tools. In another class I am in we have been learning about similar AI tools and techniques so I found this as a fun activity to practice with. I currently own a 7 month old kitten named Miso. I used her as my inspiration and created a picture of a black cat in a bowl of miso soup. I then popped a short prompt from the photo into ChatGPT. It gave me a little short story. I found this really fun to play around with and I can see AI becoming a large part of my education.

As a business major, I am really focused on marketing and where AI could take marketing in the future. The ability to create branding and logos through Dall-E is a very real possibility. For example, a company could find a photo of a very similar product they are selling and use Dall-E for creative ideas on how they could use images to market it or even find a brand logo for themselves. I found that for most of the photos I created, the more detail I gave in the prompt the better the photos would come out and be exactly what I was looking for. I am curious as to if an AI can create a brand logo, is it morally responsible for a company to call it “theirs.” I would love to hear more feedback on what my peers think in the comments.

I then wanted to take my AI experimentation to the next level for week 9 and create a storyboard on how to create the perfect strawberry margarita. To my surprise I ran out of credits on Dall-E which I didn’t know I could do. I then decided to explore Stable Diffusion for photos. Throughout this process I was definitely able to notice a difference in the technology in Stable Diffusion and Dall-E. As I have mentioned before I found with Dall-E, the more detail I input the more specific and accurate the photo was. With Stable Diffusion if I tried to add any details it didn’t respond with what I was looking for and the accuracy was significantly harder to try and maintain in the images.

I found learning about different storytelling techniques really interesting. I love talking and telling stories so I often find myself  telling stories in my everyday life. I think connecting to a personal story of my own is something I do quite naturally. I feel I am a very open person and love to share my private life with others. I think something I definitely need to work on is building up to a S.T.A.R moment. I get really excited when telling stories and find I can switch my train of thought a numerous amount of times. This can lead to me rambling and getting lost in my own train of thought. I think focusing on building up to the one moment will help me keep my story direct.

As a fellow business major, your question does spark my curiosity about the ethics behind what AI produces and who can claim ownership or its rights. Although AI has the potential to revolutionize marketing, the possibilities ahead of us are interesting; however, I do think we lie at a crossroads now. As this technology develops, I believe if clear rules or regulations are not outlined, we may get too far into the rabbit hole of who owns what artificial intelligence makes. A solution is maybe to have companies add to their terms and services that they own all content that their AI produces and include watermarks on their content.

It is very cool to see how customized images can be developed so quickly, and I have had fun playing around and learning about services like DALL-E2 and images.ai. Similarly to you, I also used DALL-E2 to make my storyboard. Although this was for a school assignment, my personal opinion has me feeling that I wouldn’t feel ok with monetizing content created by AI (at least not without paying for it).

Overall, well done on this blog Lily. Evident with your storyboard, you showcase the possibilities of AI in a real-world applicable scenario.

Hi Lily! Great post! I really enjoyed reading your post and seeing the different ways you interacted with the different forms of multimedia while connecting them to your major and interests. The image you generated through Dall-E I thought was quite clever and had a fun outcome, along with your storyboard, I feel as if I could now successfully make a delicious strawberry margarita. Thank you for such a fun and engaging blog post!

Hi Lily! Thank you for sharing your storyboard, I really enjoyed reading through the strawberry margarita instructions and found your images to be very captivating. I agree with your idea that building up to a S.T.A.R moment is beneficial at keeping the story more direct and focussed. When drawing on my own personal experiences, I also become extremely excited during story-telling and find that my brain works faster than my mouth. Due to this, my story often comes out a bit scattered and confusing. However, each scene in your storyboard was concise, flowed well together, and produced an exciting final result. Awesome job!

Hey Lily! I really enjoyed reading your post and think the image you created of a miso soup cat is super creative. I also used DALL-E2 to create a creative image and played around with a bunch of different prompts to test out its functions. As you mentioned, I found that the more descriptive I made the prompt the more accurate the image turned out to be. That being said, I found that the image I created in my mind while writing out the prompts was always quite a bit different from the product that was produced by AI. I feel like I got to learn a lot about you from this blog post and I like how you incorporated some personal elements to your content. Your story board is super well done and offers concise steps, clear descriptions, and great images. Overall well done and thank you for sharing!

The author express interest in the marketing potential of AI, specifically in generating branding and logos through Dall-E. It observe that more detailed input prompts result in better output quality. Author raise a question about the moral responsibility of companies claiming AI-generated brand logos as their own.
